What Does Face Serums Do?

Face serum have been in the market for years, but the popularity and use of them has increased a lot these past years. People have started using face serums for different skin issues like:-

Hydration

Serums can help with hydrating your skin cells. Using serums with ingredients like niacinamide have a nourishing and hydrating effect on the skin.

Aging

Aging is someone no human can escape from but what we can do is slow down its rate. Face serums can help with reducing the signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, etc.

Uneven Skin Tone

Texture is normal and common and very human to have. However, sometimes this gets exaggerated due to other external factors like pollution, diet, bad skincare routine, etc. These external factors can be prevented and the damage caused due to them can be reversed and healed with the help of suitable face serum.

Eye Concerns

Eye concerns like puffiness, dark circles, and crow’s feet can be reduced by using a right eye serum.

The Correct Way of Using Face Serums-

A skincare product can do wonders for your skin if used in a correct manner and if added in an effective daily routine. Face serums are also effective and show effective results if used in the right manner. So, these are some tips and guidelines on how to use a serum:-

  • Always apply serum after washing your face with a cleanser.
  • Moisture your face after 5 minutes of applying face serum.
  • Never touch the dropper of the serum bottle on your face. Take a pea size amount on your palm and then apply all over the face.
  • Don’t rub or heavily spread it on the face, just dab some serum on your face and leave it to get absorbed by the skin for 5 minutes.
  • Never apply face serum on a dirty and already moisturized face, as it will just be put on as a layer and will not do any benefit to the skin and can even clog pores that will lead to acne and breakouts.

What are the Possible Reasons of a Serum Not Showing Effective Results?

It is not always possible for a skincare product to work on your skin if it is popular in the market or shows effective results when used by other people. The same can be happened with face serums and there can be numerous reasons why a serum might not be working for you like:-

Not the Right Skincare Routine

Sometimes, a serum may be a perfect one for you but the problem lies in other skincare products that you are using. For instance, it is possible that your cleanser may not be able to clean your pores well and there still be stuck

The Quantity is Not Right

The best way and quantity of a face serum is taking a pea sized amount which means about 4-5 drops on your palm and then dab it on the skin. Taking more than that could lead to clogged pores and oily skin and less than that could lead to zero to almost no effects.

Just Not the One for You

Every person has different skin type and every person has their unique skin texture and needs and different face serums are formulated in the way to tackle different skin issues. So, if you are suffering from dry skin, using the one made to prevent acne and breakouts will not give you the hydration you are looking for on your skin. Therefore, it is crucial to first look for what your skin is asking for and then pick the serum according to that.

The Way of Using is Wrong

The correct and most effective way of using face serum is applying it after cleanser and before moisturiser. If you do not follow these steps excel;ty, you will not get the best out of the serum.

Underlying Skin Issues

Yes, skincare and right and good products are important for healthy looking skin, but sometimes it is not in your hands to repair your skin. You may be in need of seeing a dermatologist in order to have the right guidance and also to get checked if you have some sort of serious skin issues.
Thus, we can conclude that a face serum is something that you need to choose wisely according to your skin type and also your skin needs. If something is popular does not mean it will just click with you. What works for others may not necessarily work with you too. Also, a good face serum always needs a good skincare routine in order to benefit your skin and to show best results.
